PARTNERS

It is critical that students emerging from law school understand the legal challenges and needs of natural resource industries across the west. WRLC seeks to give law students a first-hand experience of what it takes to represent and advocate for these industries, but we can’t do that without the support of those already in the industry.

How can you help us train the next generation of natural resource industry lawyers?

HOST A STUDENT PLACEMENT

Industry practitioners have the opportunity to host a student throughout the duration of the practicum to provide them hands-on experience representing natural resource clients or companies. Students will spend a minimum of nine to ten hours a week doing work for their placement with at least three of those hours in an in-office setting. Placement supervisors are expected to meet regularly with the WRLC practicum student to assign and clarify tasks, provide direction, evaluate workload, assess status toward required hours (115-130 total hours for the term), and review work as necessary.

HIRE A WRLC GRADUATE

WRLC alumni will graduate with firsthand legal expertise that makes them top candidates for jobs in natural resource law. If you are interested in hiring or networking with WLRC graduates, we invite you to join our end of semester networking event or reach out to our team to learn more about the industries our students are interested in.

DONATE OR SPONSOR AN EVENT

WRLC is a 501(c)(3) legal education organization that depends upon your generous support to fulfill its mission of educating the next generation of natural resource lawyers. 100 percent of your tax-deductible donation goes directly to fulfilling that goal.
